The band places the safety and welfare of its members at the top of its agenda.

Key committee members, as well as others in relevant leadership roles, are subject to a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check.

New members of the band are asked to provide a reference before joining.

Procedures are in place to protect and support young players with the band in line with legal requirements and guidance from Brass Bands England.

The band’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy seeks to ensure that all players feel welcome and supported.

Any safeguarding concerns should be raised immediately with the band’s Welfare Officer: Colin Jay or the ‘named person’ for safeguarding: Rachel Clark
